Flight, Fight or Gather

Flight or Fight plays with the tensions of plants, survivalism and craft, depicting a weaponised tool as passive, redundant and unusable, drawing upon Ursula K Le Guin’s Carrier bag theory of fiction of how plant knowledge and fibre, often associated as ‘women’s work’ is underestimated by the patriarchal vision of man the tool maker and hunter. A hung carrier and grounded yarn bowl are active recipients, ready and waiting.
