Philippa Stewart is an artist, designer and educator who lives and works in Southend-On-Sea, Essex. Her works explore the role survivalism has played in prehistory, speculative archeology, first technologies, nature and environment as a means of refuge. Themes are also drawn from the importance of family heritage with sharing processes, knowledge and material culture. Works manifest in the form of drawings, paintings, textiles, sculpture and video. Philippa recently completed The Other MA (TOMA) as part of the 2022 cohort and holds a BA in Fashion and Textiles, University of the West of England, Bristol (2012). She facilitates textile-based workshops for communities across London and Essex using reclaimed materials and sustainable practice.
